Vomit

There are many things that make me want to vomit. Here are just a few, in no particular order:

- Strangers touching me on the Metro
- Airline travel/flying
- The taste of mustard
- The smell of burning tires
- Beer
- Eating any white fish
- Nicholas Cage movies
- Remembering the time Husband made BBQ with "discolored" vinegar sauce
- When I think about the "nasty" that must be on those "Soup At Hand" lids
- Rollercoasters
- Movies set in the "ancient" times involving dust and gross-ness
- Jellyfish (or anything squishy) touching me
- Barack Obama

Test

I tend to stress out.
When I stress out I *sometimes* take it out on my body.
*Sometimes* I eat strange things when I stress out.

Foods I consumed on Audit Test Day:
1 cup of coffee with Vanilla Hazelnut creamer
1 6 inch Cheese Steak Sub (at 10:20am)
1 mini-bag of Baked Layes Potato Chips
3 sips of unsweetened iced-tea
1 bottle of Diet Chocolate Covered Cherry Dr. Pepper
2 Uncle C's Pepperoni Rolls
1 Margarita (nothin' fancy...on the rocks)
1 GIANT glass of water
Too many chips to count dipped in: 1) salsa, 2) queso, and 3) guacamole
1 chicken enchilada
1 cheese enchilada
Most of a serving of Mexican Rice
Most of a serving of Refried Beans

Test was rough, but boy did I have a happy tummy...WeightWatchers obviously does not apply on test days...my PointsTracker thinks I ate nothing. I intend to keep it that way.

Kids

Things that freak me out about having a kid (in no particular order):

  • Not having perfected the sugar cookie before child's arrival (both drop and cut-out varieties).
  • Not knowing my medical history.
  • Anesthesia.
  • Giant needles.
  • Having to swallow a pill of any kind for any reason.
  • Husband passed out on the floor.
  • BFF-D having to do CPR on the floor of my delivery room to save Husband.
  • BFF-T & Co not making it to the hospital in time to hold my hand while Husband is passed out on the floor and BFF-D is otherwise occupied by saving Husband.
  • Mother talking in her shrill voice on the phone which can be heard through the walls.
  • Father, confused about whether or not there is a Marriott close by...or sleeping on the floor, where ever he may be at the time...
  • Poo.
  • Loud noises.
  • Passing out.
  • Blood loss.
  • Anything "squishy" that might be on my feet.
  • Not having feeling my feet...legs...butt...
  • Having feeling in my feet...legs...butt...
  • The inevitable "I told you so's" when it is all over.

Birthdays

Birthdays are usually a good time, unless they are spent in a 4 hour CPA Exam review class from 6:15pm - 10:15pm (during which a piece of your tooth falls off.)

Thankfully, my pre-birthday totally made up for any shortcomings my *actual* birthday may have come across. Plus, as opposed to coming home to an empty house like I expected, I came home to a bunch of balloons at my front door and a present.

Interesting Birthday Fact:
February 19th is National Chocolate Mint Day.
In my front-door present was a package of Andes candies.
I love chocolate AND mint =)

Valentines'

This was a weird Valentines Day.

First off I woke up late, and realized that my outfit for the day was rather, dark, but there was no time to pick out a replacement outfit...black and blue was going to have to do for today.

Then while brushing my teeth my electric toothbrush ran out of juice...so I had to finish brushing the old-fashioned way. When I had finished I noticed something funny...something felt funny. I looked in the mirror and sure enough, a chunk of my right incisors was missing. Awesome. My four incisors are composed (at least 60% I would guess) of bonding material because they are pretty tiny. The chunk that came off, thankfully, was off the front of the tooth and not the sides...so from a distance nothing looks out of sync. Phew.

Tonight's "celebration" of St. Valentines' Day will include...get ready...class =( Husband has been gone all week, and will be coming home tonight =) Husband has contracted an illness of some sort that has been floating around his office (last week was his traveling buddy's turn to be sick) =( My first exam is in 13 days...I cannot afford to get sick...I feel overwhelmed enough as it is... This weekend will be spent studying and attempting not to get sick...and then Monday off he goes again for one last week of travel. He'll be back home just in time for my intense final review prep work for the exam. Not sure how I feel about any of this, but regardless, it's stressful either way.

Lastly, I made I<3U shaped cookies...and forgot to bring one with me today =(

At least tonight I will get a good night's sleep with everyone home as they should be in our house =)

Hopefully V-Day Take 2 will turn out a better less...strange.

Confidence

A boost of confidence, that's what I needed today before embarking on the journey known as the CPA Exam.

A boost of confidence is what I got!

Good luck on your first day of class!!! You send e-cards, but I am not that cool. Pretend this is an awesome Hoops and Yo-Yo card and that they are doing a little dance where they wiggle a lot and singing a song about having good luck. It might go something like,

Good luck, you're gonna do AWESOME!
Good luck, you're gonna do GREEEAAAATTTT!

Or something

I made it through my first class...and took zero naps in the process. Rock on.

February

I cannot believe it is February already!

This is quite the conundrum since I am striving to be "Great in 2008" which includes many of the following underlying activities:
-Establishing a more appropriate daily routing that includes: making "decent" lunches for work, not leaving laundry in the dryer for more than 2 days, and (most importantly) ample opportunity for personal time in the Word.
-Finding a new serving opportunity (or opportunities) at church.
-Losing those extra pounds and maintaining my "healthy" weight.
-Completing the Becker CPA Review course for all 4 parts of the CPA Exam.
-(More importantly) Passing all 4 parts of the CPA Exam.
-Officially becoming a licensed CPA in the state of Virgina.

As I look onward into 2008, I have to say, I think I'm doing "okay". Sure things aren't as "there" as I hoped, but with my first Becker class starting tomorrow (oh my!) and being almost at my healthy weight, and on my way to getting that rockin' daily routine...I definitely think I'm on the right track...time is just going by so quickly, it's insane!

At least we get an extra day this year with February 29th on the calendar this leap year ;-)
